Attorneys vie for judge seat that serves south Lafayette

Three attorneys are seeking to take over a 15th Judicial District judge seat that was held by Judge Patrick L. Michot.

The election will determine who will get a judge’s seat in the 15th Judicial District Court, which covers Acadia, Lafayette and Vermilion parishes.

Attorneys Michele Billeaud, Kay Karre Gautreaux and Glynn Shelly Maturin II are all Republican candidates vying for one of five judge positions in Lafayette Parish’s largest district for judicial candidates.

Division K’s boundaries follow Interstate 10 from south Lafayette, through Scott into Duson. Youngsville and Broussard are also within the boundaries of the district.
